Our Song
2008

Our Song is the beginning of a series of choral works that each experiment with strings of random phonemes commonly used in the English language. Phonetic script has no relationship to meaning, and describes only the sounds produced during spoken language. This also develops from previous works using layered recordings for one voice, invariably the artist’s, building up and responding to what has come before.

This work was exhibited in the crypt of St Giles' Church as part of the exhibition Shadenfreuding, Camberwell Arts Week 2008
