Works on paper, 2016, all 280mm x 420mm.
This series of
25
works on paper represent 6 months of work built up in layers. Jarring elements are hand
rendered in seemingly unrelated visual languages to
create fractured images.
The motifs
disjointedly float on their plain paper grounds as they hint at and
then undermine possible narratives. They seem to navigate between drawing,
painting and collage traditions. The images could be falling apart,
their component pieces slipping away from one another, or perhaps
they are disconnected parts coalescing to form a new image, either
way, in a state of constant transition.
